New kid on the block
Previously located in Stockton, the Parts Distribution Center (PDC) boasts an increased capacity of 33% along with an increase in inventory value of 41%. It allows AGCO to keep more parts on hand, improves ground shipping and helps dealers keep customers’ equipment running smoothly.
The Visalia facility has the capacity to provide service to 132 dealer locations throughout 11 western states. Being situated closer to a nearby UPS shipping hub, means one-day delivery is now available to 98% of all AGCO dealers in California.
Total capacity equals 51, 245 sq. ft. and increase of 12,700 sq. ft. versus the previous site. There is upgraded bulk racking and an additional 10 feet of vertical storage space. The total floor space includes 23,309 bin locations and 3,328 bulk locations. Hours of operation are 8 to 5 Monday through Friday.
No part left behind
The central location also makes on-site parts pickup of in-stock items more feasible for dealers during critical production time when getting equipment repaired and back running efficiency in the field is vital.
Ample space for grain augers
Along with a 14% increase in the number of individual products kept in stock, additional powered industrial and storage racking were installed to fully utilize the facility’s 28-foot ceiling clearance and overall storage capacity.
Shiny items in every spot
The larger facility was also carefully stocked, even with steel nuts for axles, after thorough research into region-specific needs based on customer equipment inventory. Another perk is that direct shipment of parts to customers is currently available.
AGCO now offers the first training center in a U.S. based parts distribution center. The 3,000 sq. ft. area is an ideal venue where technicians can successfully diagnose and repair equipment.
Service center aids training
The worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment invested an additional $40,000 to establish the Western Regional Training Center. Having the luxury of hosting training so close to their dealers helps them reduce travel problems, costs and minimize lost production time.
A little desk time too
There are two classrooms adjacent to the expanded parts area training center. Technical training focuses on West Coast product needs and 17 classes are scheduled for the coming year.
