AGCO introduces a new mid-sized tractor line called the LT series. The new tractors are designed to handle both field and farmstead work with bigger engines and a new power-shuttle transmission. AGCO also beefed up the hydraulics (26 gpm) to give the new models more lifting power than other tractors in the same size range.
The LT 75 with 75 PTO hp and the LT 90 with 85 PTO hp are equipped with a 4.5-l, 4-cyl. diesel engine. The new power-shuttle transmission offers 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds, all without clutching. Top speed is 25 mph. An optional creeper gear slows the tractors down to 0.25 mph. AGCO says the tractors are ideal for baling hay with the high/low gear ranges that allow an operator to shift on the go with a press of a button.
A PTO economy option is available on the LTs for operating implements that do not need maximum horsepower, like rakes, generators and augers.
The 3-pt. hitch on the LT tractors will lift heavier loads. The operator also may program the height and speed of the hitch. When the tractor is carrying loads up to 8,800 lbs., a feature called automatic transport control (ATC) allows the last quarter inch of travel to act as a shock absorber to reduce stress on the tractor and the load.
The cab is the same size as the cab on larger horsepower RT series tractors. Air-ride seats, increased visibility and left and right entry doors make the cab comfortable and convenient. All transmission and electrohydraulic controls are on the right console with directional shuttle control to the left.
Prices for the LT series range from $34,880 to $48,980. Contact AGCO Corp., Dept. FIN, 4205 River Green Pkwy., Duluth, GA 30096, 800/767-3221, visit www.agcocorp.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 188.
