Steve Alexander is in for Max and talks about celebrating local ag in North Dakota, harvest progress and yield projections, oil spill cleanup, another shooting and a wind farm that won't happen.

It's a special day in North Dakota public schools, celebrating North Dakota pride. Local schools will serve meals from local producers.

Harvest is at many stages in the midwest. The USDA says more than half of the corn crop is at full maturity. Several states are projected to have record corn yields.

In 2013, Steve Jenkins was running his combine through a North Dakota field and smelled oil. Five years later the spill from the pipeline leak is cleaned up.

A man in Wisconsin opened fire on coworkers. Police shot and killed him.

People in northern Indiana were very excited about a wind farm, but the builder has pulled out of the project.
