There's more luxury inside and out with the new Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition from Ram. This truck has get work done chops, but a nice go-to-town vibe with its leather appointments and added interior tech features.
Creamy look inside
The new Southfork edition has a Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige Natura Pluss 100% full grain leather seat interior. There's also leather around the A and B pillar grab handles, and you'll find a walnut-trimmed steering wheel (or as Ram says it "real walnut-trimmed"). The overhead light Greystone suede headliner with visors of the same material – are in the works too. There's plenty of "Longhorn" badging on this machine too including the glove box and the matching floor mats.
Attention to detail
We show this detail because Ram talks it up as well. Note the red stitching in the dash. Another detail is the galvanized appearance trim. And there are walnut-colored ash wood accents. The center stack has Ram's newest tech with a big Uconnect 8.4-inch touch screen that includes navigation. There's also 4G WiFi capability, Apple Car Play and Google Android Auto for smoother connection to your smart phone.
Tell your friends
There will be no doubt you've got the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition as you drive away. There's the stretched "Longhorn" badge across the tailgate in bright chrome. The Southfork edition is available in all current Laramie Longhorn colors including a two-tone option with lower paint featuring Ram's recently added RV Match Walnut brown.
Coming your way
Here's a view of the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition from the front. The Laramie Longhorn edition was first rolled out at the Texas State Fair in 2010 and is considered the most luxurious truck ever introduced by the company. The Southfork edition aims to top that rating.
A truck for Texas
Texas is a big place for pickups and Ram (under its old Dodge moniker) was first to realize it when in 2002 the company offered an exclusive edition – the Ram Lone Star. It is designed and built specifically for Texas.
A closer look
A key feature of the Ram Lone Star Silver Edition is perhaps the color silver. You'll find a lot of chrome on this truck from the grill (with its luxury wavy pattern) to the mirrors. The Texas-only truck also gets a unique grill-mounted, aluminum Lone Star badge that identifies it as special.
A range of interior colors
The 2018 Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver Edition interior is offered with sporty cloth and vinyl high-back bucket seats in Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige, or Black and Diesel Gray. That Texas commitment has paid off for Ram. Since the Lone Star's debut in 2002, the company has sold more than 230,000 of those Texas-only models.
Here they are, the 2018 Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition trucks in both heavy duty and standard trim. The feature-filled pickups are on display at the month-long State Fair of Texas.
