This spring, you’ll be able to check overnight rainfall amounts across your farm via email, thanks to a patent-pending technology that uses Doppler radar and proprietary algorithms to estimate rainfall amounts at any location.
The daily rainfall reports will be available through Beck’s Hybrids in conjunction with MyRainReport.com across much of the Midwest. In other areas, the service is available directly from MyRainReport.com.
The service enables farmers to capture daily rainfall amounts from any location they choose. The rainfall data from each of their selected locations is sent to the farmer’s email address each morning, enabling them to make better farm management decisions.
“Farmers are going to love the accuracy, reliability and convenience of this system,” said Curt Cope, CEO of MyRainReport.com. “We are very excited about our partnership with Beck’s Hybrids. Our strength in providing reliable site-specific rainfall data combined with Beck’s agronomic knowledge will help farmers save time and energy and help them make more money.”
“This is cutting-edge technology providing farmers site-specific rainfall information without the use of expensive equipment on the ground,” said Sonny Beck, president of Beck’s Hybrids. “Imagine having field-specific rainfall information to help you decide when and where to move equipment, judge the effectiveness and timing of spray applications and analyze yield reports in relation to rainfall on a specific field. This will be a powerful management tool for farmers to increase profitability on their farm. In fact, we plan to use this system on all of our seed production fields this year.”
Currently, farmers can sign up for services on MyRainReport.com. After April 15, farmers in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Kentucky will be able to sign up at www.beckshybrids.com or www.MyRainScout.com . MyRainReport.com charges $10 per month per location for daily rainfall reports.
