New exhibit aims to expand the consumer conversation

Land O'Lakes and Winfield have created the new Winfield Crop Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms near Winemac, Ind. This agri-edutainment destination started with dairy in 2004, added hogs more recently and now brings in crops. And there's already an egg-focused exhibit under construction on the grounds.

We got an up-close look at the just-opening crop exhibit that aims to better connect the consumer with the crop technology story, where one key factor is emphasized – we'll have more than 9 billion people to feed by 2050. The exhibit works to help answer just how we'll feed all those new mouths.

In this gallery we take a look at the event that opened the facility, and offer a glimpse inside, but take it from us, this is an extensive interactive experience with a range of deep-information that children from 8 to 12 will find fascinating. And note also, that while this is an educational exhibit that adds fun, there's an ulterior motive: To help children see that there are potential careers in agriculture they should consider.

So check out the gallery to learn more about this special place, where agriculture's story is being told.
