Claiming to be the largest farm show in the world, with on-site field crops and demonstrations, the Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition once again provided plenty of equipment and programs to entertain and educate farmers. Held outside of Moultrie, GA, last fall, the three-day event featured more than 1,100 exhibitors. Here's a first look at some of the new ag equipment displayed at the show.
A new Scorpion model tractor, manufactured in South Korea, will handle small jobs around the farm. The 290HST hydrostatic tractor with 30 hp is added to a line of eight tractors in sizes up to 68 hp with a cab. EXPANDED UTILITY LINE
Several new utility tractor models manufactured by Kukje of South Korea are now available as part of the Branson tractor line. Models 3510, 3520, 4020 and 4520 range in price from $14,000 to $18,000. Equipped with a 12-speed shuttle-shift transmission, the tractors come with a 35-, 40- or 45-hp engine. A 5730 model available with 57 hp, cab, air, heat and stereo should be available next summer. The utility LandTrac tractors will soon be available with hydrostatic transmissions. Made in South Korea, the 300 and 360 models will be renamed the 330 and 390. The 330 model will be equipped with a 3-cyl., 33-hp Deadong engine, and the 390 will have a 4-cyl. Mitsubishi engine. Speed is controlled via a two-pedal dampened system that allows for fast but smooth speed and directional changes. Suggested retail prices: $16,750 for the 330 and $18,400 for the 390. Kioti's new DK65 is now the largest tractor in the company's line of utility tractors. The new tractor boasts 65 hp and comes with a full synchromesh transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds. It will reach 18 mph. MADE IN INDIA
A utility tractor made in India is available from Ag-Equipment. The Eicher 6100 boasts a 61-hp, 3-cyl., liquid-cooled, 4-stroke diesel engine with synchromesh transmission. THREE TRACTOR SERIES FROM ITALY
Three new series of tractors built by the Italian manufacturer Deutz-Fahr are now available in the U.S. market. A general-purpose utility tractor line starts with the Agrolux 60 (pictured), which retails for $29,900. A 3-cyl., air-cooled Deutz engine provides 60 hp. A larger model, the Agrolux 70, offers 70 hp and a 4-cyl. engine. The manufacturer also offers a mid-size tractor line called Agroplus, with four models available ranging in price from $48,600 to $60,125. EFFICIENT GRAIN CONDITIONING
Brock offers two new fans to improve grain conditioning. A centrifugal fan designed for grain drying and aeration will deliver large volumes of air at medium, high-static pressure. Speedrite by Tru-Test just launched the Fence Alert to warn when the voltage in an electric fence drops and livestock may escape.
