Phytase that tolerates the thermal pelleting process may soon be available for hog feed in the U.S. This means pork producers will have another tool to improve hogs' absorption of phosphorus in the feed. Quantum Phytase by Zymetrics, a subsidiary of Syngenta, is currently undergoing regulatory review in the U.S. The product is available in a dry flowable form that is added at any phase of feed manufacturing, including prior to pelleting. The company also offers a liquid form for post-pellet application. For more information, call Zymetrics Customer Service at 763/593-7839, or send an e-mail to [email protected].
