Farm Industry News received an anonymous tip last month that Versatile would be coming out with a high-horsepower tractor on tracks. Well, now we have some proof that such a tractor exists.
You Tube clips shot two weeks ago at the 2013 Versatile Dealer Meeting in Palm Springs, Calif., showed a Versatile tractor on tracks, an unprecedented move made by the Canadian company Buhler Industries, Versatile’s parent company.
“Here is what legends are made of,” says Adam Reid, Versatile’s director of marketing at the beginning of one of the clips. “And I hope you remember where you were the first time you laid eyes on the newest member of the Versatile family. The new, the legendary, Versatile Delta Track.”
The new Versatile Delta Track marks the company’s first entry in the tracked tractor market. Versatile has gone with a four-track system instead of two, the same path Case IH carved with its popular Quadtrac and Rowtrac tractors. Other companies, such as John Deere and AGCO Challenger use a two-track system.
Sources say the Canadian tracked tractor will be publically launched this summer.
