Dow AgroSciences and M.S. Technologies just announced a future three-gene, herbicide-tolerant soybean that is expected to be launched in 2015. Called Enlist E3, the new three-gene event is the first in the industry for soybeans, according to Dow AgroSciences. The new technology was submitted for U.S. regulatory approval in August 2011.
The Enlist E3 soybean stack includes tolerance to Dow AgroSciences’ new 2,4-D product, glyphosate and glufosinate. Enlist E3 soybeans will be another product offering in the Enlist Weed Control System.
“This first-ever three-gene stack event has been packaged in high-yielding elite germplasm from M.S. Technologies which, when combined, will allow growers to maximize per acre profits,” reports Lauren August, M.S. Technologies.
“Farmers need solutions for ever-increasing weed challenges, and Enlist E3 soybeans will enable exceptional weed control delivered from the Enlist system, combined with the latest advancement in soybean technology,” said Tom Wiltrout, Seeds and Traits Strategy Leader, Dow AgroSciences.
